The Events & Stories in the News workshop is the result of the merging of two earlier workshop series' which had focused independently on events and on news storylines. The workshop and its predessors have been co-located with major computational linguistics conferences, and have received successively greater participation. Many researchers have explored ways of making events and stories accessible to computation for various applications, including computational forms of journalism.
